Amazing Japanese Dance “MARIONETTE SANBASO” ~ Japanese Puppet Theater ~ Naomichi Hanazono, NANOI, Gene Shinozaki
"Puppet Sanbaso" is a historic piece in the 400-year-old traditional Japanese performing art of Kabuki.
Puppets suspended by strings have been passed down through the generations as a ritual dance expressing prayers for bountiful harvests.
Using this piece as a motif, two performers have pursued and refined new forms of puppet Sanbaso in their work "MARIONNETTE SANBASO."

This Japanese show was brought to life by a team of creative individuals, including the historic Gajoen Hotel.
"AYATSURI SANBASO", a historical performance piece of the traditional 400 year old Japanese performing art "Kabuki".
It is a ceremonial dance mimicking a doll controlled by a thread, praying for an abundant harvest.
This performance has been passed down to many generations of performers.

"MARIONETTE SANBASO" is a modern and refined take on Ayatsuri Sanbaso, by two performers, using this traditional performance as a motif.

A show put together by many creators with the cooperation of the historical hotel "Gajoen" in Japan.
